The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affair (KPDNHEP) of Malaysia had gazette the Trade Description (Certification and Marking) of Electronic Cigarette Devices (vape device) Order 2022 on 5th of April 2022 under the Trade Description Act 2011.
Locally manufactured or imported e-cigarette device shall comply with the Trade Descriptions by 3 August 2022.
All e-cigarette devices must be tested and certified according to MS 2716:2019 which includes tests of electrical, mechanical, chemical, wireless connectivity (if applicable), EMC and functional.
The certified e-cigarette device shall be labelled with SIRIM MS mark before it can be sold and offered to the market.
