BRAZIL: PUBLISHED 3 ACTS FOR PRIVATE NETWORKS

ANATEL published three acts through which it approved technical and operational requirements on the technical conditions for the use of radio frequency bands for private networks.

 

Act No. 8991/2022 addresses the technical requirements for the 3,700-3,800 MHz band for low-power terrestrial service stations. Act No. 8995/2022, in turn, establishes the technical requirements for the 27.5-27.9 GHz sub-band for stations of Limited Private, Multimedia Communication, Personal Mobile and Switched Fixed Telephone services.

 

Both acts define requirements for private networks. Applications in industrial plants of several companies were successfully tested experimentally in these ranges.

 

With these acts in force, those interested in using these bands for private use may request authorization with the conditions established in these regulations.

 

Through Act No. 9064/2022, Anatel approved the operational requirements for using the frequency range between 3,300-3,700 MHz for harmonic coexistence between 5G C-band systems and radio altimeters. These requirements underwent Public Consultation, within the scope of Anatel, with extensive discussion with the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac).

 

The three regulations establish conditions of use in such a way that the services of private networks in these new bands can coexist harmoniously with the services already provided, without harmful interference.
