On November 03, 2022, ANATEL has amended ACT No. 5159, of April 08, 2022 (publication: April 29, 2022), which approves the Technical Requirements and Test Procedures for Assessing the Conformity of the Charger Used in Cellular Mobile Phones, according to ACT No. 13423, of September 21, 2022.
Originally, Act No. 5159 was going to revoke Act No. 3481, of May 31, 2019, which which amends the technical requirements related to the product "Cell Phone Charger" at the end of October, 2022 (180 days after its publication).
According to Act No. 13423, Act No. 5159 still enters in to force 180 days after its publication, while the application of the act becomes mandatory 540 days after its publication. Therefore, manufacturers or other stakeholders would have 2 options to apply Act No. 3481 or Act No. 5159 for 350 days from October 26, 2022.
