With regards to the Resolution No. 10 of 2022, issued on June 09, 2022 on the shutdown of 2G mobile network (GSM) in the UAE, which stipulates the follow:
- Type Approval of telecommunications devices that support 2G mobile networks will be stopped.
- Display and sale of devices that support 2G mobile technology in the UAE’s markets, will be stopped six months before the approved date of network shutdown.
Accordingly, TDRA has suspended the type approval of 2G mobile networks devices and the authority reminded people to abide by the above decision and stop displaying and/or selling the above mentioned communication devices.
GSM in UAE shall be shut down at the end of 2022.
