On 9th March, ANATEL of Brazil issued the official Letter No.83. This Letter specifies the deadline for submitting the Test Report regarding the requirement for Cybersecurity assessment in CPE equipment.
Main topics of the official Letter No.83 are as follows:
1. ANATEL will accept to grant approval to new devices and renewal certificates, not requiring the submission of the Cyber security Test report. This case is under condition that the CPE product had its acceptance registered with the OCD until 9th March, 2024.
- In this case, the applicant need to submit the Cyber security testing report within 6th July. If applicant doesn’t submit the report, the certificate will be suspended by ANATEL.
- Applicants who chose this exemption way should sign a declaration letter committing to submit the cybersecurity report within the ANATEL deadline.
- When the non-conformity identified in the Testing, all units sold in Brazil market will be removed and recalled under the Brazilian Consumer Law.
2. Applicants have to submit the Cyber security Test report when applying for new approvals or renewal approvals initiated as of March 10th.
