On Wednesday 30 August, soldiers in Gabon announced that they had assumed power and placed President Ali Bongo Ondimba under house arrest. The soldiers announced on national television that all institutions are dismissed. There had also been internet disruption. Former President Ali Bongo's house arrest has now been lifted, but the coup may still affect the type approval schedule.
