From November 1, 2022, The SABS ILAC EMC CoC certification process is officially implemented.
For the SABS ILAC EMC CoC Certification Process, the turnaround period or lead-time for this certification service will be ninety (90) days, to allow for adequate time to process applications from EMC testing Laboratories that have not been assessed by the SABS through the SABS A-Lab Program Scheme.
The main reason for the proposed service lead-times or turn-around times (TAT) in days – thirty (30) days for affiliated Laboratories and up to ninety (90) days for non-affiliated applicants) – is that this is the adequate time that has been tried and tested by the SABS to do due diligence in verifying test reports as well as the accreditation status and process data of issued test reports by CoC applicants.
The test report for SABS ILAC EMC CoC Certification Process is still required to have a Unique Identification Number (UIN) issued by the SABS and to indicate the information about the SANS version, and the laboratory must have evidence that it does have a copy of the relevant SANS in their EMC testing laboratory.
