ANATEL published Act No. 2436 to approve the Minimum Cybersecurity Requirements For Assessing The Conformity Of CPE (Customer Premises Equipment). The act enters in force on March 10, 2024.
The scope of the act is general public use CPE intended to connect to the internet network:
▶ Cable modem
▶ xDSL modem
▶ UN, ONT
▶ Router or model for fixed wireless access (FWA – Fixted Wireless Access)
▶ Router or model for fixed broadband access via satellite
▶ Wireless router or access point
The requirements are mainly about:
▶ Passwords
▶ Defence & & protection against unauthorized access
▶ Supplier’s Cybersecurity Policy
Act No. 2436 is available upon request.
