CPSO issued a circular No. CPSO-310323-08 to provide an update on the registration requirement of 13A fused connection units (switched), which are classified as Controlled Goods (CGs) under the Consumer Protection (Safety Requirements) Regulations (CPSR).
Currently, the products need to comply to SS 403.1997 (or newer editions) for registration under the CPSR.
As the current standard had recently reviewed and released as SS 145-4: 2022, CPSO informed that, from December 31, 2024 onwards, only test reports for SS 145-4: 2022 (or newer editions when available) will be accepted as supporting documentation for new or renewal registration applications of the products under CPSR.
Until December 30, 2024, SS 403 test reports are still acceptable for new or renewal registration applications.
If they have a valid CoC, the products can continue to be soled after December 31, 2024, even though they are certified to SS 403. To renew the CoC subsequently, however, SS145-4 test reports will be required.
