Cosmetics in Indonesia are regulated in accordance with the Ministry of Health and the Food and Drug Administration (BPOM) regulations.
It is also regulated by the ASEAN Cosmetics Directive (ACD) stipulated by the ASEAN Cosmetics Committee (ACC).
First, Companies that want to import and distribute cosmetic products to Indonesia must register the products with the National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM).
For registration, the following documents must be submitted through a corporation established in Indonesia or through a Product holder with a General Import License (API).
- Letter of Authorization (LoA)
- A description of the composition and specifications
- Certificate Free of Sale (CFS)
- Good Manufacturing Process (GMP)
- Master of Formula and Packaging Design
- Document Information Product (DIP) : Management documents and product summaries, cosmetic ingredients, cosmetic quality data, cosmetic safety and usage data, etc
Finally, the following information should be followed as a cosmetic labelling requirement.
- Product Name
- Ingredients written in Indonesian
- all ingredients
- Manufacturer and Country of Manufacture
- Name, contact number, and address of the importer and distributor of cosmetics
- Registration number
- Batch number
- Size, quantity, weight
