UK: DBT, Guidance On UKNI Marking And Nothern Ireland Market Access

 

DBT of UK has updated product manufacturing guidelines in Northern Ireland market.

Main updates are as follows:

 

1)      EU DoC:

When a product has the UKNI mark next to the CE mark, the EU DoC is still required.

 

2)    Unrestricted access to Northern Ireland’s Businesses:

This policy permit products that meet the Northern Ireland standards to enter  the UK market without additional approvals.

 

3)    UKNI Mark and the EU Market:

Using the UKNI mark is banned in the EU market.

Also, Products for the EU should display only CE marking, excluding UKNI mark.

 

4)    Technical Documentation:

Manufacturers need to retain technical files that include the product’s design, manufacturer information, manufacturing process, etc to prove compliance with regulatory requirements. These records need to be retained and accessible to enforcement authorities upon request.
