Paraguay: CONTAEL, Resolution Revising the Frequency Allocation Plan

On January 22, 2025, CONTAEL of Paraguay issued Resolution No. 0148-2025 revising the Frequency Allocation Plan (PNAF). According to this resolution, the 3300-3700 MHz band will be allocated to 5G.

Indonesia: DJID releases WPT technical specifications

On February 18, 2025, KOMDIGI of Indonesia released Decree No. 46 of 2025 on WPT technical specifications and frequency spectrum. The decree replaces the previous Decree No. 260 of 2024 and is currently in effect.

Ukraine: 700MHz band open

On April 24, 2025, the NCEC of Ukraine released the 700MHz band in Western Ukraine to eliminate radio interference from Polish 4G/5G mobile networks. Release of the 700MHz band for Ukrainian television broadcasters’ transmitters is scheduled to be completed by December 31, 2026.

Hong Kong: OFCA, 3G service discontinuation

On April 28, 2025, Hong Kong’s OFCA approved China Mobile Hongkong Limited (CMHK), a nationwide mobile telecommunications service provider in Hong Kong, to discontinue its 3G services. CMHK must provide 3G services by June 30, 2025, and OFCA recommends that it upgrade its services or replace its devices or SIM cards before that date.

Bermuda: RAB, Wi-Fi or BT only products exempt from approval

On February 14, 2025, Bermuda’s RAB announced that products that only support Bluetooth or Wi-Fi will no longer require Bermuda approval. Products that only support Bluetooth or Wi-Fi must comply with all technical standards required by international agencies FCC, ISED and ETSI, even if Bermuda approval is not required.
