India’s Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) has introduced a new online database that allows manufacturers and registration applicants to search and verify risk classifications for approved medical devices – directly from the CDSCO MD Online Portal homepage.
Previously, CDSCO published risk classification information as static downloadable files. Applicants had to download the latest version, open it locally, and search manually – a process prone to using outdated versions and easy to get wrong.
The new Dynamic Database for Risk Classification of Approved Medical Devices replaces that with a live, searchable interface. Users can now:
- Filter by one or more device categories
- Search by device name within a chosen category
- Export results as PDFs
The database is linked directly from the CDSCO MD Online Portal homepage and is expected to be updated dynamically as new devices are classified.
