THAILAND: PUBLIC CONSULTATION ON WIFI 6E

 

 

NBTC has prepared (draft) two new NBTC announcements related to Spectrum Licensing Criteria 5.925 - 6.425 GHz in a General License and related technical standards to support the use of such new technology and has revised the original NBTC notification in number 1 to be consistent with such rules and current This is a total of 3 issues, namely:

1. (draft) NBTC Notification: Criteria for Spectrum Licensing 5.925 - 6.425 GHz
2. (draft) NBTC Notification: Technical Standards of Telecommunication Equipment and equipment For radiocommunication equipment using frequency 5.925 - 6.425 GHz
3. (draft) Notification of the NBTC: Rules for the Use of Frequency Waves and Radiocommunication Equipment Permitted for General Use (No. 2)

 

The brief summary of the standard is as follows:

1. Frequency & Output power
   
   • 5.925 – 6.425 GHz & 250mW e.i.r.p. (for indoor use)
   • 5.925 – 6.425 GHz & 25mW e.i.r.p. (for outdoor use)
2. Required Approval
   • NBTC SDoC
3. Acceptable test standards
   • RF
     • FCC Par 15.407 Subpart E
   • SAR/EMF
     • CE or FCC SAR/EMF
   • Safety
     • IEC 60950-1; or TIS 1561-2556; or IEC 62368-1; or TIS 62368 Part 1-2563
4. Application
   • 5.925-6.425 GHz is only allocated to use for WLAN or WPAN applications.

 

In this regard, the Office of the NBTC invites stakeholders and the general public to Participate in public opinion on (draft) the 3 NBTC announcements above, with details of the hearing as follows:

1. Hearing period
   • from August 11, 2022 to the 12th. October 2022
2. Comments in Thai can be submitted in writing from August 11, 2022 through the following channels:
   • Submit in person or by registered mail with title “แสดงความคิดเห็นต่อ ร่างประกาศ 5.925 - 6.425 GHz” The address is as follows:
     • Office of the NBTC (Frequency Management Bureau) No. 87 Phahonyothin Road Soi 8 (Somsai), Samsen Nai Sub-district, Phayathai District, Bangkok 10400.
   • Send by electronic mail by title “แสดงความคิดเห็นต่อ ร่างประกาศ 5.925 - 6.425 GHz” to spectrum@nbtc.go.th  

 

NBTC is also going to hold the meeting for the public hearing as follows:
