Israel’s Ministry of Energy has highlighted that part of Amendment No. 3 to the 'Energy Sources Law', 579-1989 dated 11/18/2021, has entered into force on September 1, 2022. According to the amendment, it was determined that in order to obtain an energy permit and import to Israel electrical products listed in the third appendix to the law, an importer or manufacturer must meet three European import legal requirements as follows:

For those which Energy Label is required, the flag of Israel should be displayed instead of the flag of EU as follows:

Therefore, an importer or manufacturer is required to provide an energy certificate in one of the following two ways: a statement based on compliance with European import laws, or a laboratory test certificate, in accordance with the requirements specified in European import laws. The reform applies to a list of about 20 electrical products.

The Ministry of Energy decided to allow additional preparation time until February 28, 2023, during which the existing regulations will remain in effect, at the same time as the application of the law amendment. For the limited period, it will be possible to obtain an energy permit through compliance with the European requirements or through compliance with the existing regulations.
