On February, MTIT in Yemen has resumed the issuance of type approvals after months of suspension.
Unfortunately, MTIT in Yemen didn’t release any official statement, but this news is the result of our regular follow-up and communication with the MTIT in Yemen.
We also have received the first type approvals from Yemen for some of our pending applications. As proof of the resumption of type approval, an extract of one of the approvals, which are issued in February is available on request. The type approval certificate may be considered as an official confirmation that the suspension of type approval in Yemen has been revoked.
The new type approvals are the result of the recently implemented final type approval system in Yemen. Based on these new type approvals, we would like to highlight some important changes and updates:
- Type Approvals from Yemen will now have a validity of 2 years.
- New type approvals will include a QR-code to enable the authority and the custom authority in Yemen to verify the authenticity of the type approvals in the future.
Please be noted that the lead time would still be longer than before the suspension, considering the backlog of applications since April 2022 and the upcoming fasting month of Ramadan, which is expected to start around March 22nd, 2023.
