NATEL has issued Act No. 7971, which approves the technical requirements for evaluating the compliance of the IPv6 protocol in telecommunications products and mandates the requirements from 8 January 2024.
The requirements are applicable to equipment as follows:
- Equipment for mobile services with following characteristics:
- Air interface for mobile services defined by ANATEL;
- Terminal function for 3G & 4G technologies;
- Capacity for communication through the IP protocol (Internet Protocol)
- Equipment for fixed services that has an xDSL interface, xPON interface or DOCSIS interface.
The appliable requirements for the products are as follows:
- Product only with 3G
- ETSI TS 102 514 and RFC 8200
- Product with 3G & 4G
- 3GPP TS 36.523-1, ETSI TS 102 514 and RFC 8200
- Product for fixed services
- RFC 7084:2013
