IFT has issued an Agreement which modifies the Technical Provision IFT-011-2022: Technical Specifications of Mobile Terminal Equipment that can make use of the radio spectrum or be connected to telecommunications networks. Part 3. Cellular Broadcasting Service for notification of Risk or Emergency situations
The summary of the agreement is as follows:
1. Restrictions of Usage of Channel for Receiving Alert Messages
▷ The Note as follows is established for the clause 4.2 Channels for receiving Alert Messages in the Mobile Terminal
“NOTE: The channels indicated in Table 2 must not be used for purposes other than those provided for in this Technical Provision. The above, with the purpose of avoiding their use for advertising, promotional or other purposes. Likewise, channels 4380 (primary configuration) and 519 (secondary configuration) must be enabled and activated through MMI codes, which will be provided by the ETM manufacturers, or, where applicable, through a button in the ETM configuration.”
2. Implementation
▷ The modification came into force from September 21, 2023, and 120 days of grace period after the entry into force is provided.
3. Existing Certificates
▷ The Certificates of Conformity and Homologation issued prior to the entry into force of these modifications to the Technical Provision, will remain valid until the term indicated in them, and will be subject to monitoring the compliance of the certification with the scope in those that were issued.
