On November 21, 2023, ANATEL published Official Letter 429/2023/ORCN/SOR-ANATEL, which is the guidelines on accepting test reports from abroad under Act No. 7280/2020.
According to the Letter, the obligations contained in Act No. 4083/2020 are valid for any test reports and Brazilian standard, on the distribution voltage and its frequency, should be followed in the tests carried out.
The obligations of each party are as follows:
1. Applicant
The applicant should formally communicate to the OCD, prior to the start of the tests
1) The manufacturing unit in which the sample was produced
2) The traceability of the sample sent for testing
2. Laboratory
The laboratory should inform the responsible OCD about receipt of the sample and, when requested by OCD, forward the photographs of the samples before the tests begin.
1) The OCD should respond to the laboratory with approval to start the tests within a maximum period of 2days
2) If the OCD does not respond to the communication within the deadline, it will be considered tacit.
