On Februaty 12, 2025, the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) of India announced a circular,
F.No. COS-11018(11)/15/2024, regarding the online submission process for cosmetic applications. CDSCO has developed a new module within the SUGAM online portal to handle applications related to additional variations of existing approved cosmetics, as part of the improvements to the cosmetic registration process.
As part of the e-governance implementation through F.No.D.21013/230/2016, CDSCO has been accepting various applications for cosmetic registration and importation via the SUGAM online portal. Now applications for additional variations of existing approved cosmetics can also be processed through this new module.
The module will be implemented starting from February 22, 2025, which is 10 days after the announcement date.
Therefore, stakeholders such as cosmetic importers and manufacturers are advised to submit applications for cosmetic variations via the SUGAM portal following the prescribed procedures.
