SIRIM has published an announcement that the implementation of the interim Type Approval period for IPv6 Cellular Equipment without Wi-Fi interface has been extended for another year from 10th July 2022. This extension also includes IPv6 Fiber Optic and Equipment over other mediums (except for Ethernet LAN).
Thus, all new applications and renewal of CoC for those products are allowed with a maximum validity of one (1) year.
In the announcement, SIRIM emphasized that applicant must conduct the test in any accredited laboratory available and submit the test report for SIRIM evaluation within the interim approval period. After the evaluation, full approval will be issued if the IPv6 over cellular interface or other medium complies with the IPv6 requirements.
In addition, IPv6 Product Declaration letter template has been updated, and all applicants must use the latest template when submitting Type Approval applications.
