Following up the previous news on 28th JUNE - MALAYSIA: CHANGE PRACTICE OF CERTIFICATIONS, please be noted that SIRIM has announced that the COA Holder and PC Licensee are required to be identical.
Since ST CoA must be held by a local company, the PC Licensee also must be the local company holding the ST CoA.
For the case that the holders are different, SIRIM has recommended to transfer the ownership of the PC License from a foreign licensee (e.g., a manufacturer) to ST CoA holder (e.g., a local representative / an importer) with the following conditions:
- Transfer of ownership shall be agreed by both parties i.e., Foreign Licensee and ST COA Holder
- ST COA Holder Shall have proof of legal entity such as SSM Certificate and/or License from Local Authority to ensure the validity of physical premises.
- Number of New PC License for Transfer of ownership is based on current COA Holder(s) in the same license.
- New License required additional payment per license.
